DOF R&D work for upcoming Rebirth. Krakatoa render w/out DOF with post processing using DOF PRO vs rendering in Krakatoa with DOF. Still not sure about the verdict. Krakatoa leaves amazing amount of detail under the blurred foreground (see holes in the roof seen through the balcony edge), but seriously suffers in terms of noise. Even on 0.5 setting (150s per frame) out of focus areas leave lots of artifacts. LOVE the quality and true photometric rendering of DOF PRO, and it looks visually amazing in details. 1m per frame is makes also sense. Probably could go down to 30s on a faster main workstation +15s per krakatoa render gives about 75-90s total render time per frame. Probably that’s my direction. I’ll check more plugins though.
